Jon Dreyer: Student Work
Here is some annotated work of my students.
I try to help students to be able to use practical techniques but also to maintain a deep understanding of them. This student shows that she knows a quick way to convert a decimal to a percent and also that she understands the mathematics behind this technique.

I try to help students to see the interconnectedness of math. Here the same student shows that she knows that a percent is just shorthand for a particular kind of fraction.

Some students get the concept but still need work on technique. I plan to do more work on basic skills. Ideally, deep comprehension promotes basic skills and vice versa, but in practice we need to spend time on each.
